Eid Meetup 2024
This past month we held what is quickly becoming an annual event for us - the Eid Meetup!
The Eid Meetup is an event where we invite the community to come out and get together and celebrate Eid outdoors, away from laptops and video calls. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, network, connect with each other, connect with nature, reflect on our individual and collective journeys and so much more.
This year’s Eid meetup had to be postponed by a week and even relocated due to bad weather but that didn’t stop the community from turning up and making the most of the event.
We partnered with Hulm Club and Somalis in Tech as the Eid Meetup continues to get bigger each year. Thanks to everyone for coming out and being part of a great event. If you weren’t able to join us this time then keep an eye out for the next opportunity and any other community events we announce.
Deen Developers events sell out quickly so make sure to follow us across all our social platforms to stay up to date with our latest events and activities
Additional Highlights

Haqqathon
This past month we also supported the Imperial STEM Muslim Society to host their Haqqathon!
Bringing together hackers from the Imperial STEM Muslim society, the event set out with the mission to empower students, foster creativity, and leverage entrepreneurship to solve real-world challenges through technology.
The focus of the Hackathon was to build solutions that can be implemented and bring about positive change around the themes of:
🏥 - Healthcare
🎓 - Education
🚧 - Construction
🫂 - Social cohesion
The Haqqathon allowed students to engage with peers, compete in charitable innovation, gain insights from successful entrepreneurs in a lively yet professional environment. Some of the speakers and helpers included DD members who are Imperial Alumni themselves and were able to offer valuable insights into their tech journeys after life at Imperial.
The event was a huge success with all teams being able to present something for their final demos and we’re excited to see the Imperial STEM Muslim Society continue to use their skills to build tech-for-good solutions!
