Welcome to the March edition of the DD Newsletter - the place to go for your round-ups, updates, and everything in between. Here we'll round off what has been happening in our community and look ahead at our upcoming events and initiatives!

Why I Built This 👏
We have launched our new Podcast Series called “Why I Built This” where we will be speaking with founders and builders, from our community and beyond, to understand the stories and inspiration behind their journeys.
This past month we held our first event of the series where we hosted Sadiq Dorasat, founder of Muslim Census. Sadiq talked about the intention behind launching, the traction they immediately gained being seen as leaders in the space as well as other key points throughout the journey. It was amazing to hear how Muslim Census started out as a simple link to a form and has grown into such an important tool that is impacting legislation for British Muslims.
Overall it was a wonderful evening with great turnout, networking, and food. Thanks to Reply for hosting us.
If you weren’t able to attend the event then Mahmoudat has done a great job of creating some recap/summary slides about key learnings and takeaways. The “Why I Built This” series will be released on podcast platforms so stay tuned to listen in and make sure to follow us on socials to be made aware of our next event.

Buildathon Demo Day 🎥
After an intense 7-week programme, Buildathon Batch 2 finally concluded with Demo Day.
The teams have been building, shipping, pivoting, and getting roasted for seven weeks straight and it all culminated with Demo Day where they were able to show everyone what they've been up to.
This past month we saw the launch of the Muslim Design Community.
Radi and Furquan created the Muslim Design Community to be a dedicated space for designers to come together, network, knowledge-share, upskill and everything in between.
The team have already hosted the first two community events with great turnout:

📱 - Ace the App Critique in design interviews
