The First DD Buildathon 🛠
Earlier this month we hosted our first-ever Deen Developers Buildathon - a weekend dedicated to developing your Tech-for-Good solutions, emphasising accountability and delivery goals!
Buildathons are about providing precomitted teams with the environment and motivation to knuckle down and get around to building and shipping ground-breaking ideas in one focused weekend. And our inaugural event was a huge success with all our teams turning around some amazing and innovative products all within the space of 2 days!
Now that our teams have shipped the first version of their product, it doesn’t end there. As part of the Buildathon commitment, we are working with the teams to have accountability check-ins where we follow their weekly progress to keep iterating and improving their idea. All of this work will culminate in a Buildathon pitch night in the near future where everyone will be able to showcase the amazing solutions they’ve built.
A big thank you to Deloitte Digital for hosting us for our first Buildathon weekend.
Deen Developers events sell out quickly so make sure to follow us across all our social platforms to stay up to date with our latest events and activities
Additional Highlights
Deen Developers would like to wish a heartfelt Hajj Mubarak for any members of our community embarking on this amazing experience this month.
Additionally we would like to wish an early Eid Al Adha Mubarak from the team at Deen Developers.
This past month Deen Developers attended a career fair at Imperial College London to give advice to students about careers in software engineering, data science and tech consulting.
Generative AI 💡🎨
Generative AI is currently one of the biggest trends and conversation topics taking over the tech world.
What is a Generative AI? 🧪
Generative AI refers to the use of artificial intelligence algorithms that learn from data to create new and original content. It enables computers to generate things like artwork, music, and text, often producing outputs that resemble human creations.
At Deen Developers we’re fully embracing this new wave of technology to explore its applications and use cases to help build tech-for-good products.
Generative AI was a huge theme in our Buildathon with most teams leveraging it in some form as part of their solutions. From image creation to text generation to synthetic audio, it’s amazing to see our community embracing and helping to pioneer this new wave of technology and innovation.
Here are some Generative AI tools that you can try for yourself:
Midjourney - create AI art
ChatGPT - an AI chatbot
Kaiber - AI video generation
