2023 Planning 🛠
This past month the Deen Developers team has been engaging in annual planning for what we hope to achieve in 2023. With each passing year, we keep getting bigger and so we need to make sure we’re doing everything we can to meet the needs of our growing community.
Some of the questions that we’ve been asking for this upcoming year include:
How can we improve our in-person events to deliver more value?
How can we communicate our vision more clearly?
What can we do to encourage/enable increased participation and advocacy from our members?
We ask big questions like these, look at what tools and processes we need, and figure out action plans to deliver on our goals and objectives for the year. We’re super excited about what 2023 holds for Deen Developers so stay tuned for updates as we hope to do some really cool things this year!
Deen Developers events sell out quickly so make sure to follow us across all our social platforms to stay up to date with our latest events and activities
Additional Highlights:
The Deen Developers newsletter has moved to Substack so make sure to subscribe, follow and share.
The first Forge Programme cohort has been finalised and will be announced soon.
Deen Developers recently spoke at Imperial College London about interviewing for software engineering roles.
Fireside Chat with Salman Hassan 🛠
This past month we also had another in-person community event with a fireside chat with Salman Hassan. He was able to provide a unique insight into what it takes to be a successful founder and how to utilise your faith as a guiding light to stay true to your mission and purpose.
As usual, the event was hugely successful with a massive turnout, lots of food, and extensive networking. We want to thank Ford for helping us to host the event at their offices.
Following the event, we also held an AMA (Ask me anything) session with Salman via Slack so that we could facilitate more questions and answers for those who were unable to make the event in person. Ustadh Salman will be answering questions over the coming days so make sure to check in on channel #06_monthly-ama!
Community Spotlight
This is the section of the Deen Developers newsletter where we want to show great examples of the products and solutions that our Community have built and launched. Get in touch if you have something that you think is worth sharing.
Building with Barakah
This month we want to boost the newly launch Building with Barakah podcast founded by Ali Rehmatullah! The podcast is about institutions building in the Muslim community with the first episode interviewing Grace Witter of Tech Sisters.
Building with Barakah is on a mission to serve the ummah by helping it build robust institutions infused with the barakah of Allah, through inspiring the next generation of institution builders and founders with the stories of role models in our present.
You can listen to the first episode on YouTube by clicking the button below as well as all major podcasting platforms.
Tarteel AI
We have a second community spotlight this month and once again we want to boost the Tarteel app.
For the past Islamic month of Rajab, Tarteel have made the premium version of their app free for all to help everyone prepare for Ramadan.
Combining Tarteel’s groundbreaking A.I technology with features like voice search, follow along and memorisation mode, it has established itself as a must have tool for the modern Muslim.
